Who this agreement is with
OHryte, a hardware project operating from Quebec, Canada. “We” and “us” mean OHryte; “you” means the person using the site, the service, or a device.
What the waitlist is
Joining the waitlist is not an order, not a pre-order, and not a contract. No unit is reserved for you, no price is guaranteed to you, and no money changes hands. It is a way of saying you would like one, and of being told when they exist.
The prices shown on this site are what we currently expect the device to cost. They are not an offer, and they can change before ordering opens. If they do, everyone on the list is told the new price before being asked for anything.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@ohryte.com if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to abuse other people.
One person, one account. Several people in a household can each have their own and link the same device.
The service, and what it is not
OHryte shows short reminders when a door opens. It is not a security system, not a medical device, and not a safety device. Do not rely on it for anything where a missed reminder causes harm — medication timing, medical appointments, or anything with a legal deadline attached. It is a note by the door, and it should be trusted about as far as a note by the door.
Reminders that have reached your device continue to work without an internet connection. Sending a new one, cancelling one, or seeing its status does need a connection at both ends.
Availability
We will keep the service running and will give notice of planned interruptions where we can, but we do not promise it will never be down. If it ever stops for good, we will give at least ninety days’ notice, and devices already in people’s homes will keep running their scheduled routines and any reminders they already hold — that is a property of how the device is built, not a favour, which is why it can be promised here.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to send anything to a device you do not have permission to use, to harass anyone, to break the law, or to attack the service. Do not attempt to access accounts or devices that are not yours.
Warranty
Devices are covered for two years from delivery against defects in materials and workmanship. We will repair or replace a defective unit, or refund it, at our option. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, liquid, or modification.
This warranty is in addition to the rights you have under Canadian and Quebec consumer law, which we cannot and do not limit.
Returns
Thirty days from delivery to return a device for a full refund, for any reason or none, provided it comes back in a condition we could reasonably resell. Email support@ohryte.com and we will send return instructions. Refunds go back to the original payment method, generally within ten business days of the device arriving.
Shipping
Free shipping in Canada. Delivery estimates are estimates. Risk passes to you when the device is delivered.
Software updates
We may update the device’s software to fix problems, improve security, or add capability. Updates are meant to be unremarkable and never to remove something you were relying on.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability relating to the device or the service is limited to what you paid for the device. We are not liable for consequences of a reminder that did not appear, appeared late, or appeared at an unhelpful moment. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for personal injury caused by our negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page and by email to account holders. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones in force when the order was placed.
